About NestFinder CUK
NestFinder CUK is a student-run housing directory platform that helps students of The Cooperative University of Kenya (CUK) find safe, verified, and affordable rental housing near campus.
We are not a real estate agent, landlord, or property manager. We are a listing platform that connects students with caretakers of verified properties. We do not own any of the listed properties.
NestFinder CUK is not affiliated with The Cooperative University of Kenya, Safaricom, M-Pesa, or any government institution.
Eligibility
NestFinder CUK is intended for students currently enrolled at or applying to The Cooperative University of Kenya. By creating an account you confirm that:
- You are a student, prospective student, or guardian of a CUK student
- You are at least 18 years of age
- The information you provide during registration is accurate and truthful
- You will use the platform only for finding legitimate student housing
Our service
NestFinder CUK provides:
- Free browsing — all listings, photos, prices, and locations are visible to everyone at no cost
- Caretaker contact unlock — for a one-time fee of Ksh 250 per listing, we reveal the caretaker's phone number so you can arrange a viewing directly
- Verified listings — all listings are personally verified by the NestFinder CUK admin before being published
Payments — Ksh 250 fee
The Ksh 250 contact fee is a one-time payment per listing that gives you permanent access to the caretaker's phone number for that specific listing.
- Payment is made via M-Pesa to NestFinder CUK admin number 0704 285 315
- You submit your M-Pesa confirmation code on the platform
- Admin verifies the payment and your contact is unlocked — usually within a few minutes
- The Ksh 250 fee covers the cost of listing verification, platform maintenance, and admin support
- The fee does not include any rent, deposit, or caretaker fee
Refund policy
The Ksh 250 contact fee is non-refundable once the caretaker's contact has been revealed to you. This is because the service — providing contact information — has been delivered in full.
Refunds may be considered in the following exceptional circumstances:
- Payment was made but the contact was never unlocked due to a platform error
- The caretaker's contact information is incorrect or the number does not exist
- The listing was removed or marked as taken before your contact was unlocked
To request a refund, contact admin on WhatsApp within 24 hours of payment with your M-Pesa confirmation code. Approved refunds are processed within 48 hours.
Listings & accuracy
All listings on NestFinder CUK are personally verified by the admin before publication. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that listing information — including prices, photos, and locations — is accurate at the time of publication.
However, rental prices, availability, and property conditions can change. NestFinder CUK does not guarantee that:
- A listed property will be available when you contact the caretaker
- The price shown is the final price offered by the landlord
- The property condition matches the photos at the time of viewing
We encourage you to always view a property in person before making any rental payments or signing any agreements.
User conduct
By using NestFinder CUK you agree not to:
- Share caretaker contact information obtained from the platform publicly or with third parties for commercial gain
- Submit false M-Pesa confirmation codes to fraudulently obtain contact information
- Use the platform to harass, scam, or defraud caretakers or other students
- Attempt to bypass payment requirements through technical means
- Post fake reviews or misleading information about listings
Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.
Limitation of liability
NestFinder CUK is provided as a good-faith directory service. To the maximum extent permitted by Kenyan law, NestFinder CUK and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Any disputes between tenants and landlords or caretakers
- Loss of money paid directly to landlords or caretakers
- Inaccuracies in listing information that are outside our control
- Any harm arising from viewing a property
- Platform downtime or technical issues
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraud, or misuses the platform — without prior notice and without refund.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us on WhatsApp. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days.
